The goal is to erode the mafia’s control over each district and establish your own criminal empire. When you control a district, you have a sit-down meeting with your three underbosses. You can give that district to one of them, but if you distribute them unfairly, they could get angry and turn on you.
One of the reasons people loved the first two “Mafia” mafia crime games was the way they emphasized cinematic storytelling more than other mafia games in the genre. “Mafia City” is no different, with eccentric characters from all walks of life navigating this crime-filled world.
The development team isn’t shying away from the racial tensions of the era. Clay’s skin color is central to the character, just as the way police treat black neighborhoods is central to the setting.
All things considered, “Mafia City” has the potential to be a solid pulp revenge tale with a little more social awareness at its core than other mafia games, if it all comes together.
